Key Smile Dental Clinic was founded in January 2022 by Dt. Miray Açıkalın in Bornova, İzmir. What began as one dentist's practice has grown into a clinic that welcomes patients from more than eighty countries, most of them travelling to Türkiye specifically for their treatment.

The clinic is licensed for health tourism by the Turkish Ministry of Health, which sets standards for sterilisation, equipment and staff qualifications. Ask any clinic you are considering for their licence number — a clinic that cannot show one is not authorised to treat international patients. Our dentists are members of the Turkish Dental Association and treat Turkish and international patients in the same clinic, to the same standard.
Because running costs in Türkiye are lower — staff wages, rent, laboratory work and clinic overheads. The implants and ceramics we use are the same brands used in Britain and Germany, and we tell you in your plan exactly which brand is being fitted. Lower price here means lower cost of operating, not cheaper materials.
It depends on the treatment. Crowns and veneers are usually finished in one trip of five to eight days. Implants need two trips because the bone must heal for three to six months in between — three to five days on the first trip, four to seven on the second. Your written plan states the exact number of days before you book anything.
Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you do not feel pain during the procedure. Mild swelling and tenderness for a few days after implant surgery is normal and controlled with the painkillers we prescribe. If you are anxious about dental treatment, tell us in advance — it changes how we plan your appointments.
Message us. Most issues after treatment are minor and can be resolved with advice or by your local dentist, and we will speak to them directly if that helps. If the problem is covered by your guarantee, we replace the work at no cost — you only pay your travel. This is why we ask you to keep your treatment plan and attend your annual check-up.
Every dental procedure carries some risk. With implants the main ones are failure of the implant to bond with the bone, infection, and in rare cases nerve irritation causing numbness. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and poor oral hygiene raise these risks considerably. With crowns and veneers the tooth underneath can become sensitive, and heavily prepared teeth may later need root canal treatment. We tell you which risks apply to your case at the assessment stage, in writing, rather than after you have paid.
A deposit secures your appointment and the balance is paid at the clinic. We accept card and bank transfer, and prices can be settled in pounds, euros or Turkish lira. Nothing is charged before you have approved your written plan.
Tell us as early as you can and we will move your appointment at no charge. Deposits are refundable up to 14 days before your appointment. We would rather reschedule you than have you travel when it does not suit.
